All things must come to an end
It's been a rough few months to say the least.
My back operation was actually a great success, and I had no more pain pretty much 4 days after they operated. I am really happy how that turned out. However life has a way of balancing things out quite quickly... A few days after I got out of Hospital my father fell ill and was put into a coma. He died a few weeks later. This devastation loss put a lot of things in perspective for me. It has become really apparent that I need to take care of myself better and should spend more time enjoying life and spending time with my family. It was time to really think about what it important and what is not.
I came to the conclusion that working three jobs at the same time, whist trying to halfway professional as a Kiter, just was not going to work. I love my work as Team Manager at Peter Lynn, but it was just too much extra work which I did not have time for. It's neither fair to the riders in the team and Peter Lynn if I can not be 100% committed to the job. So I decided it was best to step down from my position. I will also not be riding for Peter Lynn as a Teamrider, as I believe it makes more sense to make a clean break. It would be hard for me to just be a normal team rider in the PL Team and not constantly feeling the need to become involved again.
So what to do about kites? Well. I am working some stuff out, but I think know what I want and need now. If all goes well I will make a decision on that in the next week or so. Stay tuned for that.
For the rest of the season I will still be supported by my long term sponsors: Axis Kiteboards, Schwerelosigkite, Triggernaut, Xcel, Fuertwagen and Dakineshop.de. So thanks for your support guys!
So what am I doing now? Well most of you know that I design Foils under the Magmafoil brand. We finally have the production running, and are slowly getting all the kinks out. Producing at a factory a thousand kilometres a way takes a lot of planning and things to sort out, even if its in Europe.
I will be running some Foil Clinics in Germany and on Fuerte this year. The first will be in Kiel from the 25.-26.7. If you are interested just drop me an email.
